Bayside Chocolates's candy factory and retail shop is located in Lubec, Maine, the easternmost town in the United States. Lubec is the home of West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, located at Quoddy Head State Park. Spanning more than 481 acres, the park offers hikers breathtaking trails along rock cliffs, with views of Grand Manan Island.
Once the "Sardine Capital of the World", the main industry today in Lubec is fishing. Local fishermen trawl for lobster, scallops, mussels, and sea urchins. The cold waters of Cobscook Bay provide the perfect environment for raising Atlantic salmon.
Visitors may cross over the FDR International Bridge from downtown Lubec to Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Campobello is the home to Roosevelt Campobello International Park, the former summer residence of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The park includes the Roosevelt Cottage, museum, and visitor center, as well as natural habitat areas.
